Designed for aspiring guides or guides already working in urban, regional or remote areas who are either permanent, casual or volunteers, this basic introduction to Tour Guiding is the only course of its kind & places are strictly limited. 

The course is facilitated by the founders of Global Gypsies, Jeremy Perks (former Tour Guide of the Year) & Jan Barrie (author of the top-selling book, “How to Be an Award-Winning Tour Guide”).

It is presented though a combination of presentations, anecdotes, personal experiences, interactive workshops & more. Participants receive a comprehensive workbook & a Certificate of Attendance.

Background

Global Gypsies has been committed to tour guide training since the company’s inception in 1997. Our goal is to have as many WA Tour Guides trained as possible in order to improve the quality of tour guiding in our State & deliver a better - and safer - visitor experience. We also want to give the profession the status, respect and esteem it deserves & enjoys in many other parts of the world.

Excellent accredited courses of a longer duration are available at a number of learning institutions throughout Australia. However, we believe that an inexpensive, short course is the key to attracting a broader audience to the profession & to achieving effective & wide scale tour guide training in the longer term.
