We handle numerous requests from organisations right round the country wanting to conduct accredited 4WD training for their employees on site in remote areas or in major cities. We are pleased to provide local or nationwide coordination of your training needs and guarantee to send you a quote promptly.
All our experienced instructors all hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment and pride themselves on their professionalism. If you need training for OH&S or insurance requirements or just want to ensure that your employees are proficient in four-wheel-driving, contact us today!
With accredited training, each participant is required to complete a written, open-book assessment prior to the course. We provide a workbook and assessment paper and the test should be completed and sent back to us in advance. On successful completion of the test and the practical course, participants are assessed individually and receive a nationally recognised Accreditation Certificate.
By providing participants with the manuals and questionnaires in advance, we can devote all of our time together to hands-on practice which minimises the amount of time your employees need to be away from their duties.

Our unique new Outback Skills Training Package is ideal for any organisation employing personnel in remote areas. We have developed two innovative presentations on Basic Bush Survival Skills and Basic Bush Mechanics can be combined with a 4WD course or booked separately. Last just half a day, they are invaluable for employees working in outback areas who may be unfamiliar with challenging ‘bush’ conditions.
Basic Bush Mechanics - This special two-hour session covers the basic mechanical knowledge that is required by anyone venturing into remote areas in a 4WD vehicle. It covers such topics as mechanical overview, vehicle capability, necessary recovery and emergency equipment, risk management, typical problems encountered in the bush, emergency communications, basic survival skills, one or two practical demonstrations and a question and answer session.
Basic Bush Survival Skills - This special one-hour session covers in more detail the basic knowledge required to survive in extreme bush conditions.
These two informal sessions can be combined with your 4WD training to provide a comprehensive overview of ‘bush basics’ for your team. Both seminars are based on life experiences and formal mechanical and bush survival courses attended by Global Gypsies’ Director, Jeremy Perks.
Global Gypsies is able to convey technical 4WD, mechanical & towing information to a wide range of students ranging from novices to highly experienced participants. We developed WA’s first “Girlspeak 4WD Seminars”, “Safari Guide Workshops” and “Caravan Confidence Convoys” for beginners. At the other end of the spectrum, we regularly train, assess and accredit highly experienced personnel at remote sites who work for mining companies or such organisations as the Australian Customs Service, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Western Power and many others.
Our ratio of trainers to students is 1:6. We recommend that group sizes be broken up into multiples of 6 with a minimum of 3 vehicles/students attending a session.
Your 4WD instructors will be different from State to State but each will be an experienced four-wheel-driver who holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
We provide all the necessary recovery equipment. We can also arrange hire vehicles if you are unable to provide your own. Please note that two-way radios are mandatory for our 4WD courses. If your vehicles are not equipped with two-ways, we will provide them at no charge as part of your training package.
The venues will vary from State to State but have been selected to provide the best possible 4WD experience within easy access of the CBD. Some venues charge a fee which unfortunately we must pass on to our clients.
Students should arrange to bring their own sandwich lunches, drinking water and other refreshments. They should also bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and optional arm cover. Please note that tea, coffee and toilet facilities are available in some, but not all, venues.
Dates can be arranged depending on your local requirements, the availability of your employees and the availability of our trainers and venues. We would recommend that you confirm your bookings well in advance to ensure that your preferred dates and venues are available.
We are pleased to offer special rates to groups of four or more and to corporate clients. We structure our prices on a sliding scale depending on size of group and location of training. Please contact us for a personalized quotation.
We care about your business and are committed to delivering quality training at a competitive price.
