What Our Clients Say

"Everyone arrived back very happy from our 4WD Training Course and could not speak highly enough about it. Even those who were reasonably experienced said just how much they had taken away from the time spent with Global Gypsies. Thanks heaps for a great job! "

Sue Mason
Newmont Mining Corporation

"The 4WD training courses which you organised for us in WA, Victoria & Queensland were brilliant. Typically our guys were saying "best course we ever did". I was very impressed with the trainers - professional, knowledgeable, safety conscious and totally thorough and they provided valuable feedback on our equipment and vehicles. Your quote wasn't the cheapest but I went with you guys in response to your excellent course information, national footprint and the information pack you sent me after my initial enquiry - it was the proof and assurance I needed to help make my decision. It's been a pleasure working with you!"

Ian Uldrich
Training Co-ordinator, Southern Region
Sentinar

"Global Gypsies were very well experienced in 4WD’s & had an in-depth knowledge of the Pilbara region. The combined experience & knowledge of the area made for a very practical 4WD course which allowed the Telfer Environment Team to experience driving in our own backyard safely. The assessment process was honest & safety focused. We would recommend Global Gypsies to other mine sites in the region."

OUTBACK SKILLS TRAINING PACKAGE

Our unique Outback Skills Training Package is ideal for any organisation employing personnel in remote areas. It combines Basic Bush Survival Skills and Basic Bush Mechanics which are invaluable for employees working in outback areas who may be unfamiliar with challenging ‘bush’ conditions.

Basic Bush Mechanics - covers the basic mechanical knowledge that is required by anyone venturing into remote areas in a 4WD vehicle. It covers such topics as mechanical overview, vehicle capability, necessary recovery and emergency equipment, risk management, typical problems encountered in the bush, emergency communications, basic survival skills, one or two practical demonstrations and a question and answer session.

Basic Bush Survival Skills - covers in more detail the basic knowledge required to survive in extreme bush conditions.

This course can be combined with your 4WD or low risk training to provide a comprehensive overview of 'bush basics' for your team. It is based on life experiences and formal mechanical and bush survival skills of Global Gypsies’ Director, Jeremy Perks. Participants receive a Certificate of Completion from Global Gypsies.

We are able to convey technical 4WD, mechanical & towing information to a wide range of students ranging from novices to highly experienced participants. For beginners we developed WA’s first "Girlspeak 4WD Seminars", "Safari Guide Workshops" and "Caravan Confidence Convoys". At the other end of the spectrum, we regularly train, assess and accredit highly experienced personnel at remote sites who work for mining companies or other organisations working in outback areas.

Group Size

Our ratio of trainers to students is usually 1:6. We recommend that group sizes be broken up into multiples of 6 with a minimum of 3 vehicles/6 students attending a session.
