RECREATIONAL 4WD TRAINING

Ok, so you have a 4WD vehicle, but do you know how to get the most from it? Do you feel confident about taking it off-road? Do you know how to get out of a tricky situation? Are you planning a big trip and just want to feel a bit more confident? Then our fun, one-day, short and sweet training course is for you!

Through a partnership with nationally accredited trainers Getabout 4WD Adventures in NSW (RTO No. 90474) we are proud to offer a special one-day, recreational 4WD training course for WA clients (see below for information about accredited courses).

Recreational and accredited courses are run by highly experienced, qualified trainers, including Global Gypsies Director and former Tour Guide of the Year, Jeremy Perks, and several Senior Trainers. All our trainers hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.

Our personalised 4WD courses are not just for heavy-duty 4WD vehicles, they are ideal for soft-roaders or all-wheel drive vehicles as well. Whether you've got a Land Cruiser, Patrol, Forester, Rav 4 or XTrail, if you'd like to improve your 4WD skills here's the perfect way to do it! And ladies, we are fluent in "Girlspeak", so get out there and have a go!

This excellent course will teach you how to handle your vehicle, show you how to cope with tricky situations and help build your confidence behind the wheel.

ACCREDITED 4WD TRAINING

Our accredited training is ideal if you require a 4WD competency certificate for OH&S purposes, want to beef up your CV or just want to see if you can make the grade!

On this course you receive trainee manuals and questionnaires in advance, are assessed by our competent and professional instructors and receive accreditation documentation on successful completion of your written & practical course.

Course Content
Basic 4WD Training

Our one-day Accredited Basic 4WD course covers the Unit of Competency SRODRV001B “Drive & Recover a 4WD Vehicle” which includes:

SRODRV001B/01 Identify 4WD specific terms, terminology & techniques
SRODRV001B/02 Plan for minimal environmental impact
SRODRV001B/03 Perform pre-departure checks
SRODRV001B/04 Use features of a 4WD vehicle to drive in a variety of terrain types
SRODRV001B/05 Use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle
SRODRV001B/06 Perform maintenance & minor repairs on a 4WD vehicle
SROODR002A Plan Outdoor Recreation Activity

Cost:

First student in vehicle $275; additional students $75; observers in vehicle free. PLUS $80 fee for manuals, professional assessment and accreditation documentation. Special rates available for clubs, groups or companies looking for a great team-building exercise! Courses held on the last Saturday of every month or by request on dates to suit.

Advanced 4WD Training

Our Advanced 4WD Training course covers the Unit of Competency SRODRV001B “Drive & Recover a 4WD Vehicle” which includes:

SRODRV002B/01 Drive a 4WD vehicle in difficult terrain
SRODRV002B/02 Perform maintenance & minor repairs on 4WD vehicles
SRODRV003B/01 Operate in a safe manner
SRODRV003B/02 Operate in an environmentally friendly manner
SRODRV003B/03 Use single snatch strap to recover a 4WD vehicle up a steep incline
SRODRV003B/04 Use vehicle recovery equipment
SRODRV003B/05 Use a winch to recover a 4WD vehicle
SRODRV003B/06 Demonstrate the safe use of jacks
SRODRV003B/07 Maintain vehicle recovery equipment

Please note that the pre-requisite to this course is successful completion of SRODRV001B incorporating SR00DR002A
