Join us on our fabulous inaugural tour to South America!

Focusing on Peru, together we'll discover the fascinating history of Lima, explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, stroll through the cobblestoned streets of Cuzco in the heart of the Andes, cruise through the jungle in search of exotic wildlife, and admire Machu Picchu with its ancient secrets!

We’ll experience the colourful atmosphere & traditional crafts, learn about the culture, watch local artisans at work, spend time at a wildlife research centre, visit a local home, sample traditional foods, take gentle walks through the mountains & gain an insider’s perspective this fascinating country. Our ‘16-day South American odyssey takes in all the highlights of Peru combining sightseeing with culture and conservation.

This magical & memorable tour will be personally escorted by Jeremy Perks & Jan Barrie, Directors of Global Gypsies, and led by local English-speaking guides. The price includes most meals, coach transport, internal flights, activities, national park entry fees and quality accommodation.

The tour is a joint venture with Perth-based Coates Wildlife Tours, Global Gypsies & Coltur Peru so you'll be in safe and experienced hands. Global Gypsies will coordinate ground content; Coates Tours will process bookings & assist with international flights, visas & travel insurance (which is mandatory); and Coltur will look after us while we are in South America. We’ll be met at Lima airport, travel as passengers in comfortable coaches & commercial aircraft, and enjoy quality accommodation (two per room/single beds) at a combination of four-star hotels and exotic jungle lodges.

Jan travelled through Peru 20 years ago and can't wait to get back. "It's one of the places I've always wanted to return to, particularly Machu Picchu and the village of Cusco with its majestic mountains, unique atmosphere and picturesque Urubamba River. Our small, select group will enjoy a once in a lifetime holiday experience and this will probably be a one-off tour," she says.
