This marathon adventure through the real Aussie Outback will be amazing! Travel from Port Augusta to Cairns via the famous Birdsville Track, Boulia, Mt Isa, Lawn Hill, Burketown, Normanton, Karumba, Weipa, Cape York, Thursday Island, Lakefield NP, Cooktown and Port Douglas. Our small convoy will be led by one of WA's leading 'tag-along' guides, John Forwood, who is a close friend and professional associate of Jan & Jeremy of Global Gypsies.

Join the entire trip, or just 'tagalong' for part of it if you prefer! You’ll enjoy expert guidance with commentary, Gulflander train trip to Croydon with overnight at historic Croydon Hotel, boat and bus tours to Thursday Island and Horn Island with overnight at Jardine Lodge, Quicksilver boat trip to Great Barrier Reef and train/cable car trip to Kuranda.

Also included is all accommodation (campsite) costs except meals, unless stated, all entry fees, bookings, boat cruises, train and cable car fees and entry permits. Please note that this tour is self-catering only.
